The Ask
A large module shop had a fast turnaround project requiring a total of 2260 custom clamp on style pipe supports. The package consisted of approximately 30 different configurations and pipe sizes, each requiring special clamps to be fabricated to a custom specification. The customer required supports at their site in five weeks from issue of purchase order.
A further complication was the supports required either a high temperature paint coating or hot dip galvanizing after fabrication which generally is a two-to-three-week turnaround.
The Solution.
Utilizing our in-house CAD, CNC fabrication and coating facilities East Lake was able to fabricate the required clamps and supports to specification, manage the coating process and deliver the supports to the customer site on-time and budget.
The Result.
A key component of our success on this project was the outstanding welding throughput and quality our fabrication team were able to achieve with our Miller Performarc robotic welding cell.
